Pastor Peter Gurung, originally from Nepal, and his wife, Dr. Ronima Gurung (Roni), from the Philippines, have committed their lives to serving both God and their community through a unique blend of ministry and healthcare. Together, they have followed God’s call to return to Nepal, where they aim to provide much-needed healthcare services while sharing the love of Christ.
Dr. Ronima Gurung’s Medical Expertise
Dr. Ronima Gurung, or Roni, is an accomplished optometrist with a passion for using her skills in service to others. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Philippines and later obtained her PhD in Optometry from the European University in Paris, France. Dr. Roni’s professional experience in optometry perfectly complements Pastor Peter’s extensive leadership experience in both secular and spiritual fields. Together, they form a powerful team dedicated to holistic ministry, addressing both physical and spiritual needs.
Pastor Peter Gurung’s Path to Ministry
Pastor Peter Gurung is a dedicated leader and one of the first-generation Christians among the Nepali expatriate community in the UAE. He holds an MBA from Gloucestershire University in the UK, as well as a Bachelor of Theology (BTh) from the International Open University in India. His strong educational foundation has enabled him to navigate both the secular business world and spiritual leadership.
Peter is a founding member and Senior Pastor of the Nepali Bible Fellowship (NBF) church in Al Ain, UAE. Under his leadership, this vibrant church community has grown, spreading the Gospel and nurturing the faith of many Nepali expatriates. For over 19 years, Pastor Peter worked with the global company Unilever in supply chain management and warehouse operations. Additionally, he spent three years in hospital administration, further honing his leadership and management skills. These experiences equipped him with the knowledge and expertise to guide his community not only spiritually but also in practical ways.
A Calling to Serve in Nepal
In response to God’s call, Pastor Peter and Dr. Roni have returned to Nepal to bring vital healthcare services to their homeland. Their mission is rooted in both their faith and a deep desire to serve the community by offering accessible and quality healthcare. Their vision goes beyond physical healing; they aim to bridge the gap between humanity and God by sharing His love through compassionate care.
With their combined experience in administration, healthcare, and ministry, Pastor Peter and Dr. Roni are laying the foundation for a healthcare project in Nepal, starting with a clinic and eventually expanding to a hospital. This initiative will serve as a beacon of hope in the community, offering not only medical services but also spiritual guidance, helping people experience both physical healing and spiritual renewal.

Ark of Hope
The Ark of Hope has been a vision of ours since December 2022. As a picture of Noah’s Ark, where people were eating, drinking, and making merry, but the flood came and wiped them all away before they could enter the Ark. However, Noah and his family were “saved.” In this same way we want to show God’s mercy and His plan of salvation through Jesus with Ark of Hope. The Ark of Hope Construction started in Jan 2023. Many local community and church leaders are thanking God and looking for God’s favor on it.
I believe that providing medical care is the best platform to express God’s love and show his compassion to those who are lost, “Physical needs open the Spiritual Conversation” We would be thrilled to come to you and your church to share about God’s work in the UAE and to discuss our impending move to Nepal.

Churches We Serve
NBF (Nepali Bible Fellowship) was established in 2009 as a church congregation. Nepali – the language we speak, Bible -our base of faith in God, Fellowship -our platform for worshiping Him.
The UAE became a transit hub, people move from UAE to Europe and other Western countries for better opportunities. We have a chance to share the Gospel with the people of Nepal. After they accept, we will teach and lead them into ministry. They are doing their blessed ministry in Malta, Portugal, and different parts of Nepal, but they are facing some difficulties and challenges.
We conduct two worship services every week. On Saturday, 80-100 people gather and on Sunday 30-40 people. We hold various types of services including: Camp visitation, park fellowship, Bible Studies, prayer meetings. etc.
